Yoga Therapy Sessions

Trauma-Informed

Personalised support through yoga therapy, somatic tools and nervous system regulation.

“Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured.”

— B.K.S. Iyengar

The practice

A personal practice that meets you where you are, as you are.

Sometimes, we need a little more support and individual attention before we can return to movement, to a regular yoga practice, or simply feel safe and at ease in our bodies again.

Yoga Therapy offers a personalised approach for people navigating physical challenges, emotional or mental difficulties, trauma, stress, or times when the nervous system needs greater care and support.

Drawing from the traditional principles of Yoga, Yoga Therapy and trauma-informed practice, each session is adapted to your body, your needs and where you are in the present moment.

How we work

A process created around you

Yoga Therapy is offered as a series of one-on-one sessions — a minimum of four, with the number of sessions and the focus of the process shaped together according to your needs and intentions.

Together, we define clear goals for the process and develop a personalised practice using movement, breath, awareness, relaxation and other therapeutic tools.

The intention is to support you towards the change you are seeking — whether that means easing physical or emotional symptoms, reducing fear around movement, supporting nervous system regulation, working with trauma-related symptoms, or gradually finding your way back to a group or personal practice.

By the end of the process, the aim is for you to leave not only with greater ease, but with practical tools and a deeper understanding of what supports you — so that the practice can become something you can continue to draw from independently.

The intention

My approach

My teaching is rooted in the principles of Yoga and Yoga Therapy, with additional training in Trauma-Informed Yoga and specialised approaches for post-trauma.

While the principles of Yoga remain at the heart of the practice, the way we approach them can look very different depending on what you are experiencing. Sometimes the focus may be on rebuilding strength and mobility after a physical challenge; sometimes on feeling safer and more confident in the body; and sometimes on supporting the nervous system through stress or trauma.

The practice is adapted to what your body and mind need at this particular stage — with the intention of helping you better understand yourself, build resilience, and gradually find your way back to movement, wellbeing and a practice that feels right for you.

“Trauma victims cannot recover until they become familiar with and befriend the sensations in their bodies.”

— Dr. Bessel van der Kolk
